Therapeutic Services
Personalised support to unlock potential.
At Hatfield Wick Education (HWE), we believe that education transcends academics. It is a transformative journey that nurtures confidence, emotional intelligence, and social competence. Many students who join HWE face challenges such as anxiety, low self-esteem, and difficulties in social interactions. Our Emotional & Social Development service is designed to address these needs through a holistic, therapeutic approach rooted in our CARES framework—Compassion, Autonomy, Respect, Empathy, and Support.

The CARES Framework
A Holistic Foundation The CARES curriculum is central to our ethos, creating an environment where every student feels valued, understood, and empowered. This approach draws inspiration from Carl Rogers' person-centred theory, emphasising the importance of a nurturing educational space where students can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
Compassion: Embedded in every interaction, ensuring students feel genuinely cared for and supported.
Autonomy: Encouraging students to take ownership of their learning, fostering independent thinking and self-confidence.
Respect: Celebrating individuality and promoting an inclusive environment where every voice is heard.
Empathy: Cultivating understanding and positive relationships, helping students connect with others’ perspectives.
Support: Providing tailored interventions to meet the unique needs of each student, enabling both academic and personal growth.
Our services are structured to help students build self-awareness, manage emotions, and develop positive relationships. Through guided mentoring, structured activities, and therapeutic approaches, we create safe spaces where students can express their thoughts and feelings freely.
Guided Mentoring: Our well-being mentors work closely with students, offering consistent emotional support and practical coping strategies to navigate everyday challenges.
Therapeutic Approaches: Incorporating trauma-informed practices, mindfulness, and resilience-building techniques, we address emotional well-being alongside academic development.
Structured Activities: Activities designed to enhance emotional regulation, stress management, and self-reflection, aligned with the CARES curriculum and the NHS Five Steps to Mental Well-being.
